About
Lanai
Still largely undeveloped, this sparsely populated island (only 3,000
people), was a pineapple plantation until that industry crumbled in the
1980’s in Hawaii. Since the 1990’s this island, mostly owned
by Dole Food Company, has slowly seen small hotels and restaurants popping
up. With their recent effort to become more tourist friendly, Lanai still
remains a quiet, uncrowded island, the perfect place for that quintessential,
remote, tropical island experience.

Hulopoe
Beach: Located on the southern side of the island, it’s one of the
top ten snorkeling and diving sites in the world.
Garden
of the Gods: This is closest you can get to “walking on Mars”
without exiting our atmosphere is at this dusty volcanic rock and boulder
garden
Shipwreck
Bay - The mighty hulk of the World War II era "Liberty Ship"
eerily rests just offshore here on a reef. Additional beached ships and
fishing floats can be found along this 8 mile stretch of beach.
Keomuku
Village Ruins: On the east side of the island, this late 19th century
community once revolved around a now defunct sugar plantation.
Kaunolu:
This former fishing village is now a National Historic Landmark and has
one the finest collections of ancient Hawaiian ruins in Hawaii. Along
its coast also lies Kahekili’s Leap where brave divers once dove
off its 60 feet cliff, narrowly missing rocks protruding from the ocean
floor.
