About Dublin
A city of lively pubs, Irish spirit and colorful neighborhoods situated amongst Georgian architecture. Located on the banks of the River Liffey in east Ireland, Dublin is a city of fast economical and commercial growth while still maintaining the essence of its Gaelic roots and traditions. Originally a viking settlement, this city, and entire country for that matter, have come a long way since "The Great Famine" of the late 1840's ravaged the island and caused many families to emigrate to America. This is a big reason why about 40 million Americans have ancestral ties back to Ireland.
