Cheap Flights to London

London is the capital city of England, the country that ruled much of the world, including India, South Africa and the US, for centuries. To this day, this dynamic history and culture is exemplified in it's vibrant people, historic squares and medieval buildings.

Hyde Park: Hyde Park is an immense park located smack in the middle of London which has been a royal park since 1536. It contains Marble Arch, which was built as a gateway to Buckingham Palace in 1827, but was moved to its present location in 1851 and Lake Saprentine, which is customary to swim in on Christmas Day.

The Buckingham Palace: The official home of Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family, which was built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham. There are almost 600 rooms and 3 miles of red carpet in the palace. Every day the "Changing of the Guard" occurs when the palace keys are ceremoniously handed over to the replacement guard.

St. Paul's Cathedral: Majestic building topped with a huge dome with a golden bell and cross. St. Paul's Cathedral was destroyed in 1666 as was 80% of the city, during the Great Fire of London, but was rebuilt.

London is one of the cheapest places in Western Europe to fly into from the States and Canada. Now, is one of the best times to travel to England, especially in the winter months, when hotel and flight prices are slashed three fold. I especially like to travel here in late March and early April, right before prices shoot back up and the weather is warming up.
